Default Coloring

I've been curious about something for a very long time. If you look at the 3 pictures I've attached, all 3 timnehs look different. Is there anyway to tell how Baxter will look when he matures? Do Timnehs they go thru different color variation stages as they grow or does it just depend on the individual bird as to how they will look when they mature? Can anyone guess me what Baxter "MIGHT" look like (picture please) judging by his coloring, beak, etc, etc.?

Thanks

I havent seen at ton of Timnehs but the ones I do know are much darker than CAGS, with a deep maroon tail and bone colored beak. I dont think your baby will change much except the beak.

Hi

I am familar with the differences between the TAGs and the CAGs. I am interested to know if there are huge differences between TAGs only. For example if you look on the internet coloring varies (i.e. some beaks are bone colored and some almost look pink and the color black on the lower mandible is darker on some. There also seems to be a huge contast in color (face area) between the gray and white). Just trying to get a feel of what Baxter might look like.

Thanks

You have to figure in the difference in lighting in those pictures. The first picture is brighter than the 2nd, which will make the feather color look different. In the first and 3rd picture, the birds are adults, while the 2nd one pictured is a juvenile. In the adult TAGs I've seen in person, they all look pretty much the same.

It also depends on how old a set of feathers are, if your bird is about to molt the feathers may appear lighter in color because of their age, as opposed to new feathers which have a brighter/darker or more saturated and a more shiny appearance.

What Camille and Kimba said. I think you'll find that most of the differences you're seeing in pictures is more due to lighting, camera differences, age, and state of feather. Not that there aren't subtle differences which no doubt stand out like a sore thumb to a TAG owner.

Oh good! I actually like the looks of the TAG in the first and third. But we'll see. Whatever he looks like I'll love him anyway.
