Re: Breakfast time! Well birds dont eat eggs as a meal like we do. If she was hungry it's not guaranteed she would have eaten more of just eggs. What was the food she was going to eat for breakfast besides eggs? Pellets? Seeds?
That's why you want the scale.
I never feed animal proteins except a TINY bit of egg occasionally. And for people who do, (yes there are exceptions) ...they only get a small bit of animal protein in addition to their MAIN foods. Those would be grains, veggies, dark leafy greens, a bit of fruit, soak seed and sprouts.
She'll be looking to eat about 30 minutes after waking up which normally is with the sun. Then again between 2 and 4 P.M. which is their main meal filling their crop for the overnight. Since they go to roost at dusk. So you'll want to offer a variety of things with eggs just sparingly.
I know everyone is sick of hearing me say that, and I suggest you review diet with your vet. It's a complicated thing and if she isnt eating pellets she needs to eat from certain categories and actually EAT not play around with them. Example: Like a large percentage of beta carotine foods (orange) about 35 % IMO. Also if you arent feeding pellets you'll want to review vitamin and mineral supplements with her doctor. Especially a Grey with the calcium.
The scale is very important they usually regress especially if they are eating (or not eating) differently than at their home.
