Hi there Dominique! Zakiya will throw all the things she's not interested immediately onto the bottom of her cage. When she is done with the "good stuff" she will go right down and sift through those. I have a grate on the bottom, but after seeing what she did with her food, I started to cover the grate with paper. Of course, now my dog Hondo benefits from her food flinging as well....*(sigh)

This was such a cute post. You girls put a smile on my face this morning. But I would also sugget using a grate. If I didn't use one Ryan would be covered in poop every day. For some reason he likes to play down there and brings all of his toys with him. Also he is no gymnist, he falls to the bottom regularly.

I've trained myself to clean the grate first thing after work every day. If you keep up with it, it's not that bad to clean. I spray it with fantastic and let it sit for a couple minutes. The poop pretty much comes right off. Then of course rinse it.

LOL Chopper loves to throw things....food, toys, you name it!!!

When I got him everyone told me that greys are a bit scared, skittish, etc.... but he is very active and crazy. Hanging all over, exploring, trying to wander on the foor, and he is definitely NOT afraid of new toys...He is the opposite, extremely curious, and usually jsut loves them!

Greys are great.

Greys are great! Danielle, Z is so precious! Every picture of her puts a big smile on my face!

Well, I'm glad I'm not alone in this! The grate is back in the cage and though its a pain to clean, its not hard. Greys just crack me up though! Everyone says they're quiet and calm, but Echo is totally opposite of what she 'should' be. Come to think of it, all my birds are that way, lol
