I have been tempted for a while now to get another grey .... Phoenix is 10 months old and gets sillier by the day ... and my biggest problem with him is his friendliness .. this silly bird loves everyone , the fact that some of his playmates may not be suitable is a bit of a problem.

This poor bird has tried so hard to make pals with the conures its heartbreaking .. he whistles at them and chirps at them and they just want to bite him ...

I think he is like this because he was raised with other greys , amazons and cockatoos, my breeder used to put them all together for supervised playtimes.... very good idea actually I think.

he is with me all day from 5am to 5.30pm so he isnt lonely but i enjoy the company of other humans so its safe to assume he would enjoy the company of another bird.

Anyhow I phoned my breeder earlier and asked him to have a baby ready for me by december or so ...it will give me plenty of time to sort out cages etc.

He seems to think its a good move , Phoenix is a baby still by december he will only be 17 months .. and of course my new baby will be raised the same way that he was so the odds are fairly good that they will be friends ..of course I do know it isnt certain but ill try.

So now we await another baby , in the meantime ill go for therapy ..i need to have my head examined for this

Its exciting , i have to have Phoenix sexed too .... so ..........

Congrats Carol! That's wonderful news, but what a long time for the clock to be ticking! I'm not sure we can wait that long, hope you get some pics of the baby growing up.

It is a long wait , but I dont want to put our finances under pressure , we have a fairly large amount of money coming in a few months .. so ill be a good girl and be patient.

Ill be able to see him/her regularly , my breeder is only a 20 minute drive .. it was so much fun watching Phoenix grow up.

ahhhhhhhhhh multiple greys are great and will keep you VERY occupied!

Im one of these strange people that believe in explaining things to my animals .. so yes I have told Phoenix and he will be well prepared for the new arrival.

It sounds odd , but it works .. the dogs/cats birds all get told whats happening I honetly belive that on some level they do understand
