Default Turd is not going to make it through the night

As most of you know, Turd is my 10 year old Rottie.
She hadn't eaten in three days but was drinking gallons of water, Yesterday, she started having a distcharge that wa not a normal heat.
I took her to the vet today and they found that her uterous (sp) had shrunk and was filled with puss that was septic. Also a tumor, high feaver and infection.
I hope I made the right choice.
1) Have her uthinated
2) Treat her with antibiotics and see what happens.
The vet felt that #2 would not work or would only prolong the inevitabal.

I chose # 2.
I got her to take one pill wrapped in a piece of cheese....the next, I had to force on her.
I really will be suprised if she makes it to morning. I had all my grandkids come to tell her goodby.

We have all done a lot of crying here tonight...the kids are heartbroken.

I am so sorry to hear this. My heart aches for you, I have been there myself one too many times. I hope that somehow she makes it through the night and the antibiotics work.

My thoughts and prayers are with you grandma and turd. If she doesn't make it through the night, we know she has gone to a better place. With you, I am sure she could not have had a better 10 years.

I'm so sorry Susan. I've only had to lose one dog so far in my lifetime, but it was one of the hardest things I've been through. I'll be thinking about you and praying for Turd. I hope she gets a miracle.

Thank you so much everyone.
She finally did take a small drink a few minutes ago. I have been using an eyedropper to get fluids into her.

Susan, I am very sorry to hear about this. I went through similar things with my large dogs a few years ago and it's heart wrenching. Like the others here, I will be praying for a miracle for you guys. You are in my thoughts.
