Hardest painting I have done to date. All black, was difficult getting the shading without making her look grey.
The picture of the painting does not really do it justice, you really need to stand back to get the effect of her sitting.

Keep up your training, you will have a dog like Ell's.
The breeding, well, it is very involved. I had to sit an exam with our club here. Then they all have to be genetically tested, that is expensive. I am currently waiting on Chaz' DNA eye test result.
I bred Ellie to keep a pup for showing.
There is a lot involved in raising the pups and the responsibility for them even after they go to new homes. I also give them all basic training before they leave here.
I am the Vice President of our local club, very heavily involved in the dog scene. I also build the website of the club. You might like to look at that. Again, there are no links that conflict with this forum, I hope I am not breaking any rules posting these.

Here is a picture of that litter at about 5 weeks. Lots and lots of trouble in those happy faces.

East Gippsland, Victoria, Australia.

The pups at that age were full on. All trying to get my attention.
You put down a bowl of food and you are swamped. I have my son go in with them to socialize with children. He sits down and gets invaded with puppy. Too funny and too cute. (he was 12 at the time)

Okies, judging from our PM's you are ready for the STAY command. You have conquered Sit. Good for you and Lucky, you are doing well. At 5 months she has done a great job of being an obedient pup. Also you have house training under control. If she regresses talk to me and I will help you. I have Chaz my 2yo who over the past 2 weeks started to poo in the kitchen, don't know why all of a sudden, but he is absconded to outside at night at the moment..the joys of owning dogs aghhh. I have him closed in on the porch, when I see he isn't pooing on there at night anymore he can come back inside.

Lets get back to the STAY command. Lucky knows how to sit, get her to sit while you have her dinner, rather than give it to her straight away, tell her to stay and hold up the palm of your hand in front of her face and say STAY. Move backwards 2 steps, repeating the word STAY and keeping you hand in front of her nose. Put the feed bowl down on the ground and repeat the word STAY. If she tries to move towards the bowl, lift it up off the ground and go back to the SIT command, then tell her to STAY.
Put the bowl back down and repeat the process. Don't give her food till she remains in the one spot. You only need to step back 2 paces, keep your hand on the bowl when you do so you can pick it up quickly.
Once she stays in the same spot for just a second, give her the bowl and let her eat, patting her and praising her.
Interaction when a dog is eating is a GOOD thing. It helps prevent 'food aggression' later on.
