Exclamation My trip to Ole McDonald's (pix included).....

Ok, so we went to see puppies...OMG>>>>>
I had NO idea what a trip this would be. We were kissed by llamas, serenaded by some ducks bred for their down, screamed at by some cheeto munching monkeys. ...
First, here is the new addition to our family. In three weeks, we'll be bringing DAISY home. She'll be our son's. She's only 3 weeks, but she's sweet. She's a chocolate fiest. He's really happy with her.

Now, here are those ducks. I have NO idea what they are, but she said they are bred for their down. They looked like they were in bad molting accident to me. But they were docile and very beautiful. Looked like lil ghosts running amuk on a farm.

Then here is ONE of the FORTY monkies that she has.
Jeez, they were carazzyy..One of em actually picked up a ROCk and threw it at the lady cause she forgot to give him a cheeto!! IT was funny, but the rock flew by my head. That's ok, cause I was distracted from the emu chasing the corgi puppy by my feet as I nearly tripped over the goats. PIgeons nested overhead, llamas were kissing us on the cheeks, deer were playing in stalls, and she tried to give us a guinea pig that had just had some babies as we were leaving. Cat's roamed about, Aflac the big duck was a hit, I lost count of the puppies at around 70 or so.
NOw, listen this is a very very clean setup. I know it's hard to believe but she had an 18K dollar setup JUST for the fiest puppies to be bred in. She has been inspected and has some sort of license to have all these animals. She is very good to them. She takes in rescues. The money she makes from the pups is used to buy food and medicine for the rescues.
I'll post more pix later. It's an amazing setup. She has schoolkids that stop by and help some and she feeds them pizza.
I can't wait to go back. I got my eye on that llama.
We have a nice barn and 5 acres fenced..waiting for the right fit.
E I E I O,

Sounds like a Zoo!!! Those ducks were the coolest things I've ever seen, and a Emu??? Forget the LLama, I'd be nervous about an Emu chasing a doggie around my feet!!! LOL! I'll pass on the Monkey's though, I've already got two of them{ the Grandkids} LOL!!! How big is Daisy going to get??? She's such a pretty puppy. Sounds like you guys had a good time. Can't wait to see more pix.

Yea, I've wanted a llama for years. I may not get this one, but we'll see. I can't really tell you WHY I want one. They graze a lttle, but not much, certainly not enough to kep 5 acres down. They're just ....cool?
She is a different lady for sure. If she had told me how many animals she kept on the phone, I probably wouldn't have went. It would have sounded bad. But once I got there, it was absolutley enchanting. My whole family had such a great time. It was like a book or something. There were animals beeping, squawking running eveywhere! But, except for the emu and the one dog, they all got along. It was very odd. She is retired and completely devotes her life to these animals. She's happy, in shape and in a constant run. She can tell you the story behind each animal. She has a rhesus (sp?) monkey dropped off at her house 19 years ago. She has a dog that it's front elbows don't work and they were gonna put it down, but she took it. It runs basically on it's hind legs and sort of scoots it's front. I looked and thought to myself, it looks pitiful, it might be better off being put down. Then, I rethought and it was certainly loved there, had friends that had disabilities and it was very healthy and it actually moved really fast.
The lady was so proud of all her work.
It did my family good to see it. It did me good to see someone with a true PASSION in her life. She loved her life, she was doing what she wanted.

A llama
I'm not a big llama fan- there are some at the local conservation land that try to spit at you whenever you walk by; I've gotten hit a few times- but these ones sound very sweet.
The puppy is adorable. I've never heard of a feist before, though.

The ducks are called Sebastopol, which are actually a very unusual breed of geese. They cannot fly are very gentle and make excellent pets (yes, I did want one).
Josh, I can see you with a monkey! Having to change its diapers, clean its cage, all that fun stuff! LOL, j/k! ZThey are really cute, I just don't know how she could manage to keep that many!
As for the llama, I think they're cute! You could start a Llama bussiness!
