Well, it was raining out this am so my hubby didn't put the dogs outside. He left them in the kitchen/den area. We have that gated off. That dog tore up jake! I awoke to this odd noise - it was a plastic liner off a plant - and she was having a heyday! Dirt, plant, newspaper, magazines, etc. in little tiny pieces. ALL OVER! Dirt in places I didn't even know I could have dirt! BAD DOG!!!! Do you want her????

Poor Jess. They are def dogs that need lots of activity or they will destroy from boredom. Luckily she didnt chew any moulding or even the door. You may need to crate train until you can trust her.

But Ill pass, even though she is cute!

Wow! I have never had to crate a dog.
Poor baby - Mommy wants to barter for you.
Jess, I think she was trying to tell you something.

wish I'd known about crates when I had my Dob - the woodwork wouldn't have suffered so.

We once had a digger of holes in our yard - but never a digger of plants inside!
No - you can keep her.

We sell 'Critter ridder' [among other stuff] in the nature store - apparently most dogs & cats don't like the smell of garlic - maybe grate some into the soil. Of course you have to like the smell.

This is why my dogs live outside. Ok no very cold weather so warm kennels is good.

I am not sure garlic works on determined dogs, we planted some to save the garden and they dig holes to sleep in the garlic anyway.

Just enjoy her Jess. I am sure she didn't mean to destroy the plant.

I sympathize Molly loves to get into the garbage or take things off the counter if we leave stuff on the counter. I don't believe she does it to cause destruction, just to let us know how miffed she is that we left. Our new crate should be arriving today actually - it's really because we have proven to not be able to remember to take the garbage out or to put things away on the counter! As simple as it seems, we're not yet trained! It's honestly more my husband than me. While he's been away I've successfully left Molly alone in the house for up to 5 hours and she was a pure angel - but that was after double and triple checking the house after major cleanups/declutterings. Baby gates don't work, they're a piece of cake for her to bust through - and she does like the challenge of working through something that keeps her out of the kitchen or garbage cupboard. Even if we remove the garbage from the cupboard she still likes to open the cupboard (and got past all baby locks).

Molly is crate trained and I'm hoping that reintroducing the crate goes smoothly. We only plan to use it when we have to rush out of the house for a few hours and don't have time to do thorough house checks. It's mostly for safety - we don't want her to get into something toxic as she once did with her incontinence meds.

And the crate is big enough that I could comfortably lay down in it with her if I so choose
