This is Joshia, the demure young man from the PetSmart adoption center (looks are deceiving & yes these are their holiday pictures).

and this is Miss Julie; she and her sister were trapped behind Texas Weiner on Rte 22 in Plainfield after her mom was killed (I got her from my vet).

In a strange twist of fate, the woman who was working the adoption at PetSmart when I got Josh years later turned out to have been with my vet's tech when they captured Julie & had adopted her sister Sweetie. Strange small world!

They are completely spoiled and quite happy to sit watching the birds, squirrels and bunnies that visit the back yard, with no interest in going outside to meet them up close & personal.

DOGS
My handsome Buddy- I've had him since I was 10.

The lovely and ever sweet Zoey. She's 3 and a rescue.

My darling Sophie is on the left. She's also 3 and a rescue, and has a deformed foot.
Lucky is on the right. We got her when I was 9.

CATS
All of the cats I've had since they were kittens.
Simon is 5

Sysco (Sissy) is 4

Lexi and Ria are also 4, but I don't have good pictures of them. Lexi's jet black, and Ria is black and white.

This is my beautiful Shelby. I've had her since I was in 3rd grade. Poor girl is going blind and can't hear well these days.

Well, I recently posted a photo of Buddy, and its really the best one we have. Boy, it's hard to get a good photo of a black dog, you know?

Back along, we were very involved in Greyhound rescue. Sweeter, more loving companions you will not find. Here are some photos of our beloved retired racing Greyhounds, all of which have passed over the Rainbow Bridge.

The first is of Don, with (L to R) Ben, Ra, Jen, Tucker, and Justy. This was during the brief period when we lived with five greyhounds and three cats in the small log cabin you see behind. There were dog beds everywhere!

Next is a shot of Tucker and Justy Blue modeling their new winter coats and boots. It was 25 below zero when this photo was taken. Trust me, you don't go far with greyhounds at that temperature without boots!

Last is my favorite portrait of Justy Blue. Could there ever be a more regal expression?

Nate, what great pictures of the greyhounds, I admire you for taking them in. Just the other day I drove past the greyhound track in Portland, Oregon which was shut down as it's cruel to race the dogs then have them destroyed.
From what I have been told greyhouds make great pets............
