We've been acclimating Molly to my inlaws' farm, their two dogs and many animals, and now she loves going to the farm. Here she is this past weekend hangin' out with the horses!

Molly was so pooped from her busy weekend. She and Riley will now get to enjoy the farm several days per week (I'd say about every other day they get to go when the weather is this beautiful).

He's in a Western saddle. Dave's been trained to ride English his entire life and Jake is a new addition to the farm recently specifically for trail riding, and he'll be ridden Western style only.

I can't even imagine what it's like to ride English. I've been riding from about the age of 6 and have only ever ridden Western- and bareback of course! I definitely want to try riding English someday.

We had a few Western trained horses that we retrained English style.. They are very adaptable & smarter than we think. In fact both horses were great - switching from neck reining to leading with one rein. They didn't display any confusion with the change in saddle or posting. Maybe they were special cases - but all I know is we fumbled thru. I love bareback in particular, but you really need a round bodied horse! ~ I had one & she didn't need more than her halter & a rope cause she could neck & lead rein without confusion.

Molly is so much like my Dob was - terrible - if she heard the tack jingle she was at the door. It endeared her to my brother. Heaven for her was running along side the horses. She also loved cross country skiing. Maybe you can look into that next winter.
