Default Charlie

I had to move his tank today and clean it.. cause it had been a while (couple of weeks ) due to horse problems but anyhow he was sooo NOT a happy camper.

I gotta start thinkin of converting that walk in wardrobe for him in the next couple of weeks and the tank is way too small for him.. hopefully that will be done by the end of the month!

remember when I brought him home?? freaked out a few people on here... but lord has he grown!!!

hes a little on the dark side because he spent so much of the day in a box and got a little cold waiting for me to get help moving the tank

Is that his specialized diet sitting on top of the tank?

A friend of mine at work had an Iguana for several years, and he got up to 3 and a half feet long before he got sick and passed away. His name was Frank, and he was quite the boy!

He is (can't think of an adjective). Cute doesn't seem quite right. Does he let you hold him? We saw alot of them in Cancun. We would take them melon back from breakfast each day and after a couple of days they would be waiting for us! We were told they only grow as big as their cage allows. Tell Charlie Ruby says Hi!

nah igs can grow larger than their enclosures...before i got Charlie he was in a tank shorter than he was.. he had lived there about 14months..

he is a little tempermental... actually alot tempermental he prefers to be completely hands off and tends to get really stressed if hassled

Nate.. believe it or not he can "jump" up and climb to the top of the tank and push it open on that side if let..thats why the buds over him lol

I can believe he can escape, we had an eel that could jump out the tank, so we kept a phone book on top. We forgot the phone book one day and the poor eel died from being outside the water too long.

My Son-in-Law had a huge one. We built an enclosure that was 6 feet by 5 feet with a large tree branch and that still seemed a little too small for him. I had to give him baths in the bathtub he was so big.

How old is he Jayne? Temperament and aggression was the reason my SIL had to re-home his to a more suitable safe environment with a large habitat. Despite him being tame and played with daily once he reached sexual maturity it was too dangerous to handle him any longer.

Im not sure of his age.. but ball park about 3yrs.. that tank in the photo is 4feet long so hes about 2.5- 3ft. I only brought him home because the petshop had him kept so badly.. i really didnt want an iguana at that point. he wasnt ever overly friendly but he didnt mind being handled when i first got him, unfortunately he had a fungal infection on his head that needed treatment everyday so he wasnt very impressed with that

as for enclosures like i said im gonna redo my walk in wardrobe which is about 8feet high 6feet deep and 8 feet wide, it will be so much easier than tryin to figure out where to put a purpose built tank.. the big problem im gonna have is heating the place but the extra room he will have will be worth it
