OMG the mystery of the moving things drove me insane!! I thought that maybe I was sleep walking, that Dave was playing tricks on me. I first noticed it because Boston brought out both shoes of a pair that I hadn't worn in months and months because they were uncomfortable. And some nights he would move 8 or 10 shoes and put them all in the living room. Before I would go to bed every night I would scour the house to make sure that all shoes were put away, only to find a pile again in the morning in another room! My mother in law thought I was nuts and that the dog was moving things (but she was always locked out of the laundry room) - until she animal-sat one day, had Riley outside for hours while she was away, and then came home to many shoes moved |
That is outrageous! Boy was he working hard.

He finally revealed himself one night when we stayed up late chatting with a guest. We heard Boston meowing and he suddenly walked into the room dragging a sock.

Nice to know you weren't insane & your mother-in-law could relax.
I remember that Cleo made me tidy my clothes - she'd chew the armpits out of my tops if I left them out of the hamper! She was a devil. Cleo would sit beside the coffee table, look me in the eye, rub her head along my book & then slowly open her mouth & sink her teeth into the edges. She would then race out of the room before I could reach her. Another endearing thing she's do was pull on cupboard doors or the front door to make them bang, just as I was settling down for the night. It was a good thing I loved her - what a cat!
Vive would eye a pencil on the table & then you'd see a paw lowly appear over the edge. Then the wild eyes would appear &then she'd kill it. She was our 'pencil cat'. Much sweeter than Cleo.
