These little guys are in the Finch clan. We usually don't see them until later on in the winter, but last night we had what is referred to in New England as a "Nor'easter". That's a storm that tracks north over the Maritime provinces and brings the wind, rain and snow in from the north east. I've seen three species today that are either unusual for us to see at all (Cardinal), or not usual this time of year (Pine Siskins, Canadian Jays). I expect the high winds of the storm blew the little guys around some.
