Default I have a talking Crow

Two days ago, I was sitting in my back yard and heard a "hello." I didn't think much of it...thought it was one of my birds. This morning, I heard it again. My windows were closed so I knew it was not one of mine. I waited, heard it again so I said hello. I got another hello back. It came from a low branch in my tree. I looked up and saw a huge crow. I said hello again and watched the bird. Yup, I saw it say hello. We have a Wildlife Refuge about five miles from here. They had a talking crow for about 10 years but I know it passed away two years ago. I am going to call them when they open to see if they are missing one that I didn't know they had.

Neat, I've never heard one talk in the wild. Wonder if it may have been in someone's home at one time. My daughter's MIL has a crow, it's a very good talker also.

No Nate, not Schnapps...Irish Cream.

I called the refuge and they said they have not had one that talked in at least four years. I called pet shops and vets to let them know just in case it is someones pet. It was with a flock so I doubt it.

it may have been one that had escaped from either a bird outlet or aviary months agooo.. or even a while a ago.. and has hooked up with a flock and still remembers that word.......
