They're not very big, 14 to 17 cm long, with a 25 to 30 cm wingspan. Noticeably larger than the Downy Woodpecker I posted a picture of a couple of months ago though.

LOL, it's there, only about a foot or two below the bottom of that picture. That's a seven foot tall post he's sitting on. The nice green looking background is all evergreen trees (spruce, fir, and cedar). This was taken last Sunday, when (for a wonder) it wasn't snowing!
