Default Gentleman and his Lady

This Canadian pair was hanging out in a field nearby, taking a few days off on their northern trip. They were quite a ways off the main road so I had to walk up on them slowly. It was cute how as soon as I started getting what he judged to be too close for comfort, he'd put himself between her and me.

That is just the sweetest picture and the fact that he put himself out there like that, well that is just precious. ~Jenna

Nice shot. Those guys can get AGGRESSIVE- and they are fearless, too... I have made the mistake of getting too close before.

I know. Its often a mistake to put human characteristics on animals, but he was certainly protecting her.

They're on their way! Haven't seen them around for the last few days, so they should be there directly.

Yes, I believe they do.

You betcha'! Other than in the woods, and a few spots where it was plowed up into big compacted piles, the snow is gone.

You guys probably have seen wild geese flying in the familiar 'V' formation; a very stirring sight. But did you know why one leg of the formation is always longer?? Well, I'll tell ya..........

It's because there's more geese on that side!!

You are almost as silly as Ruby! hahaha! Those are beautiful geese! I had two once, Helen and Houdini, and a coyote got Houdini and killed him one night. Helen screamed and cried for two days. You can't tell me animals don't know and love!

Very nice shot - Nate your photos are always worth a check out.

I second the be careful around those guys. I've walked up to tons of them, even at the farm which was a mile from a wild bird sanctuary. In the city they are tamer or more tolerant of humans. Toronto has tons of them & a lot never go south. In the parks their poos make the Pigeons look good.

I love them too. They are so lovely.
