Mary, as you know there is never a free bird. This little guy looks like he needs a good vet visit, a change of diet, and a good supply of toys to keep his beak in shape. I hope he finds a good home.......

Wendy, I'm glad your friends are going to take him! Please come back and post when they do. I just found this thread and I love hearing happy endings.

So true what Gary says.

I sure hope (most especially since this bird is free to the new owners), that they spend the $$$ for a good A.V. check-up/tests - if there is any doubt as to his health. I also hope they provide him with all that is necessary to get him into tip-top shape - to include a super healthy diet, proper lighting and full flight if possible (in a safe flight/area of course). Maybe you can get the new owners to join up here and keep us up-dated as to his progress. Sure would be thrilling to hear about that on a regular basis.

Ipoh will be in GREAT hands, I have already printed out everything they need to know about Ekkies, I am very familiar with them, I had one at the rescue for almost a year and read everything I could get my hands on. I also gave them the name of my avian vet they are planning on making an appointment for as soon as they get him. Did I mention they live 3 houses down and I've known them for over 20 years. They are great people and I will be here anytime they need a thing.
Their computer is out of wack so i also printed them out an ad I was sent by dell and wrote this address on it, I hope they join also there are so many wonderful people here

Yes Gary, there is no such thing as a free bird....if anyone should know that---I do.

Angel---cost---free---initial vet bills first six months $1500

Lucy and Ethel ---adoption fee $800 and initial vet bills 1500--2000 dollars.

So yes, you are so right.

But as they say, it isn't about saving money---It is about saving a life.
