I found my future Conure on Craigslist, too.

I'm sad they are keeping one and selling one because they think it will make them bond to them. All they really need to do is keep them in seperate cages.

When I was visiting Echo, at the previous owner's home, she told mesomeone emialed her sayign they wanted to get a friend for their bird (I want to say a macaw) and keep it for a MAX of 2 years! It was so sad!

You would think that anyone thinking about getting another bird would know that they may not get along, and a bird is a lifetime commitment...

I am torn concerning this issue, I post my Rescue facility on Craigs list and I have taken in afew Little ones, but I make it clear, we don't buy birds here or sell birds, we offer a forever loving home.
I know there are many Backyard breeders selling there birds on the site.
Whats a small adoption fee?
There are folks that are looking for good folks to take there birds in, but there will always be those that exploit the system for free advertizing.
Rescue & Breeding will always remain on seperate sides of the fence, so I better say no more.

I know what you mean BrokenWing. I had two responses to my ad on craigslist. One was really suspicious of a breeder and the other turned out to be a man who took in the Conure from a young girl to find it a better home. You just have to investigate the ad.
