Sassy is a polite bird. Whenever she gets food handed to her she says "Thank You". I really didnt teach her to say Thank you.

I am very impressed, because I am very lazy about training the parrots. We all spend a fair amount of time together but they are often alone hanging together and chewing things up.

I guess you'd call my fids resourceful because as soon as I walk into the kitchen to get their dinner they all swarm me - they know where the food comes from! And the other night I was about to put a frozen veggie mix in the microwave to warm it up and Jerry went and flew over to the cupboard above the microwave and looked at me like, "ok, Mom, now put it in here.." I have to shoo him away nearly every night because he would hop right into the microwave with the plate if I'd let him!!

The only real training that we do is recall with the budgies. Jerry is very good when I'm not slacking off on the training and Winston gets better all the time - for Winston it's more about target training and refining his flight skills at the moment. I need to get Lulu in on the recall.

Jerry is just supervising to make sure you don't forget how to make food.

Simon is like that too he will ask for a cracker then say Please. After he gets it he will say with such enthusiasm thank-you we didn't teach him that either it is just words that we use with all our pets so I guess it just shows you that they just like human kids are always listening to everything you say.
