Default New Toys

I just got this gorgeous straw wreath toy for Kady. He won't actually get to play with it for another week when it becomes less alien looking to him. So right now it's resting comfortably on the sofa. Tomorrow it will get a little closer, so on and so on, until voilą it will be in his cage.

What do you usually do when introducing new toys?

I'm going to start attaching syringes to them for feeding and med purposes!

This weekend I plan on filling a couple with pellets and junk and not putting the stopper in and see if I can get a reaction. Prolly they'll totally ignore them.

Seriously though, that's what I used to do with "non Parrotlets". Moving it closer over time then letting it sit there next to the cage or putting it on myself after they got used to it. Then they'd think it was part of me and just ignore it OR play with it.

I want to see photos with the new camera. Of you and your DH walking around the house wearing the new syringe studded necklaces and the wreath on your heads.

i usually put artemis' new toys on top of his cage for a day or 2 so he can check them out before they are in "his space". that usually works pretty well, but he is still very picky about what he actually plays with. most toys i get him sit and go unplayed with most of the time.

Michelle, I have no doubt it will end up being his favorite toy. He LOVES straws. That's a whole lot of work you put into those wreaths and they are so pretty. Thank you!

Kelly, this is the description and pic from Michelle's site. It's REALLY large and colorful.

Lg. Silly Sid Straw Wreath
Lots of shredding fun with 400- 4" straw pieces strung on 3' ss wire. NO quick link, if your like me you have a lot laying around from old toys, why pay any extra for something you don't need. A great toy for plucking birds. 15" x 15".
