Birds practice their vocab before or as they fall asleep. It is very common that they talk themselve to sleep.

well i got to say my grey does swear and it came from me know and again
i was also told to try swap it for other words but all we get now is
which b....ch instead of just b.....ch so just trying to iggnore it as i know this method does work
if anyone laughs at them its like a child they find it something to carry on doing so when zena shouts this and anyone laughs they are getting telling off but not in ear shot of her as i dont want her picking up the telling off lol

Great points. I have to say that I do laugh sometimes at my young bird's antics & it only encourages him.

I have to leave the room to avoid this.

I'm often happy my birds do not speak - my sympathies to all.

i think at first it is funny untill reality hits home and then its too late they are saying constant
i took a friends african grey in for him as his marriage broke down you will all know the story but we couldnt keep her and rehome dher to a very good friend of ours and before she went she swore like a tropper not just the f word either but now its very rare she says it all because the iggnore the swearing came into place
he has had her 3 yrs and took nearly all these 3 yrs to cut it really down but well worth it

He still swears like a trooper, mostly at night thank heavens, not too many people are around out my back yard in the dark. He is totally ignored.
During the day he does not do his yapping so much, seems a very happy, animated bird, full on in ya face. We are still getting aquainted. Almost time he had his beak trimmed back a bit more.
