I have to second everything that little_angels said... this way of training, referred to as Natural Horsemanship, is one of the most nonviolent ways of training there is. Breaking and training are two entirely different subjects. I recommend picking up one of Monty's books, called The Man Who Listened To Horses. He devised this method of training because he was sick of watching his father literally break the horses he sold.

yup in that book he also talks about how by the time he was 10.. or maybe younger he had over 70 broken bones due to his fathers voilent towards him, and how that made him want to find a non voilent way to train horses and to help abused childern, hes actually gone into prisions all over the world to help young people get over their voilent pasts... hes a wonderfull man indeed,

i might do a join up with one of our horses of the next few days and get a friend to tape it, might be able to explain what im doing and why im doing it, should be able to show the "non horsie" people that it is far from cruel
