Re: Controversial article - read carefully before freaking out! A lot of it reminds me of how in the old days it was popular to "break" a bird in order to tame it. Although not as extreme. Did that practice work, yeah but a different type of relationship was formed, and one that was not as positive as the type we strive for today. Also parrots don't want to bite, it is a last resort because all other communication has failed to work. I don't agree with making the bird want to bite you because it will, because that is what they naturally do. They don't naturally bite, they resort to biting. There is a big difference there. However, if a bird has already learned to bite first and ask questions later.....there is some merit in what this guy is saying. |
