Re: Activity play Ollie and I play peekaboo wth towels or the bed sheets. I'll throw it over her, say "wheeeere's Ollie??" then I pull it off and she'll say "PEEK A BOO!" It didn't take her very long to learn that one, and we still have fun with it. Plus, it desensitizes her to the towel in the event I need to towel her.
Her all time favorite game is 'get the toes.' That is where she tries to attack our toes and make us scream and bleed. It's a painful game, but definitely keeps her occupied.
We play fetch with a rolled up sock on my bed.
She also has some acrylic shape stackers (see the Parrots at Play contest thread for a picture). That's a great training game. She's also modified it to 'mommy pick up the shape please, so I can drop it again'. Great fun. She'll drop it over the side of the table, look down at it, say "ut oh," then wait for me to retrieve it.
Recall training is great. Ollie is 100% when I have a clicker/treat. But she needs more practice at finding me when I call her from a different room in the apartment. Have you tried that? Sort of like a flight hide and seek? That may put a more challenging and interesting spin on it. |
