Question Opinions on this Travel Crate

i am looking around for a travel crate for ivy. with those monster tail feathers, i have to look at pretty big crates. i found this one tonight

Amazon.com: Brand New 2 Doors Dog Kennel Crate Cage 36x23x26 - A306: Home & Garden

it says that it is powder coated, and i like that it has a grate at the bottom.

thoughts or other recommendations? i wish more parrot companies made macaw carriers. the only ones i've found are the clear acrylic ones and i really don't like those.

My Miligold was shipped to me in one of those plastic travel crates. It was only 18"x8". I was appalled when I saw her in it. A few broken feathers and lots of poop but she survived. I would say the one you picked would be sufficient.

That crate would be sufficient size but.......... what is the wire thickness, how strong is Ivy's beak, also I think it is too open. Are you going to fetch her or is she being shipped by plane? If you are fetching her yourself I don't see any problem with that one.

I think Ivy will like this one then. She will be able to see out. A carrier only needs to be closed for a nervous baby, a pet needs to be able to see mostly.

I think that's a great crate. Looks big enough to handle those beautiful tail feathers and of course roomy enough for that sweet baby to move around, can ya tell I'm in love with the "Big Blues",LOL!

That will be a great create for auto travel. You might consider placing a blanket over the back half of the cage to help her feel more safe. Toys hanging and a perch is perfect.

I think it will be great for her! Just a suggestion that may help; when I put toys in a travel cage I secure them top and bottom so they can't swing and hit the bird.
