The inside light doesnt count, the windows filter out the beneficial rays. If they are out in the natural sunlight 3 times a week for at least 20 minutes to an hour (according to what I've read), then it's ok. As long as they are getting the rays not a dark porch.

Sally that Feather Brite light is exactly what I need! Do you remove it when it is off or does it stay up there all the time?

I keep the Feather Brite light fixture on the cage all of the time. I only have it turned on for two or three hours each day.

We buy timers, they are reasonably priced.
We also order our full spectrum lighting out of Bird Talk Magazine, they can either be hung from the ceiling, or floor mounts that can be moved whenever there is a need.
There have been reported cases of birds going blind from to much lighting and wrong placement, 2-3 hrs a day is appropriate, the lighting should emit from top to bottom or above the head facing downward.
Some birds such as the Amazon species require direct sun light for good health care.
