sounds like it is going to be Freedom for me. i really would like to pay about $1k less, but ya gotta do what you gotta do lol. | Don't think you can go wrong with Freedom, they are beautiful and functional. If Legacy is questioning if they will be doing a lifetime then it may be worth the extra $ for the warranty. |

I too have also been looking around at all the SS cages available...and considering all the features.
What I would really like to hear is the opinions of people who already own and have actual day to day experience with a particular brand of cage. They all look good in pictures and of course each manufacturer says theirs is the best.
My scarlet macaws are fairly easy on cages, my B&G's will test them and my greenwings are the cage destroying monsters from hell who tear everything up. So that's always the first question that comes to my mind about quality "will it stand up to my greenwings abuse".
Thanks for the info everyone, it's very helpful...and I hope you will come back and give a review of your SS cages after you use them for a while. |

I had not heard of that. I am sure that if that situation would arise they would stand behind it but i can not speak for him.
Angel does sometimes bang around on her cage but we are lucky as she doesn't really "chew" on the bars.
Good luck with the Freedom. They really are gorgeous cages! |

#26 | | | Re: Legacy Cages : SS Made in the USA Based on the research I've done (an exhausting amount) there are a handful of brands of ss cages you should consider, and you shouldn't go outside of those ones. The basic idea is that ss cages are not cheap, so you don't want to get stuck with an off-brand that uses non-authentic ss and falls apart on you. I've read in numerous places about generics and non-reputable brand names of ss cages rusting away within 12-24 months. That's a scary thought. Saving some money on a ss cage isn't worth getting a cage that wont even last as long as a powder-coated cage! That's why I'm so determined to get a ss cage that wasn't made in China. Asian factories are notorius for "watering down" their metals to save a buck. Not just in cages, really in all metal products! I'm also leery about buying a cage that's mass produced in a factory. I've read a lot of posts in forums about sharp points inside of cages (even good brand names too) that are dangerous for birds. I think the quality control in large factories is inadequate and don't want to risk Freddy's (my Congo) safety at all. I think the list of reputable brand names includes Avian Adventures, Kings, Cages By Design, Animal Environments, Freedom, and maybe Featherland. I'm sure Legacy deserves to be on that list, but they're not out yet so we can't officially put them on it yet. |

We have the King's cage and Animal Environment cages and have determined that the King's has softer stainless bars with a concern of holding the larger heavier perches and the Animal Environment cages have an issue with an ill fitted pan and feeders that are to shallow for large birds beaks. |
