I know there are a few Hyacinth owners here, and I was wondering if you could tell me about the housing you have for your birds. I am currently looking at getting a stainless steel cage from Freedom Cages. Any recommendations or help of any kind would be much appreciated. I know no matter what, my cage will be an investment so I want to make sure it is the right choice.

Any other Hyacinth tips or pointers would also be greatly appreciated. It's very difficult to find good, reliable information on Hyacinths.

Thank you so much for your time

Emily
Hi, and welcome!!! I STRONGLY suggest a Freedom Cage. I know the owner very well if you need any help. They are fabulous! they also stand behind their cages, where some manufacturers will not stand behind a cage for a hyacinth. Congratulations on your baby!

Thank you very much for the welcome! I spoke with the Freedom Cages owner on the phone today and he really seems to know his stuff. He was a very pleasant person to talk to, he got me even more excited! I forgot to ask him today, do you know if the feeding bowl covers are Hy proof? I know they are under warranty for breakage, but are the locks "pickable" by curious beaks? Freedom has by far impressed me the most with what they offer in the way of products and guarantee.

Thank you for the congrats, too!! You all will hear all about him/her as soon as we meet I can already tell I am going to fit in just fine here!

Emily

The feeding system is fabulous. Mark will tell you the truth as to whether or not they are hyacinth proof. He is very honorable. Let him know Kathie from Bird Paradise said to take good care of you!

Hi and welcome to PC
We are blessed with a little girl HY and she amazes us every day. Angel will be 4 on the 29th of october and you will just love yours i'm sure.Along with Angel we have 7 other macaws 5 of them being large ones. All of ours are in either Kings 506 or 406 cages and we have no complaints with them at all. Been down the cages for less roads and bargain brands and it dosen't pay to save money cause you will spend it sooner or later. Good luck with your choices and congrates on your HY. will be required Esp.in the Macaw forum

Thank you for the welcome and for the cage information, Jim and Maryann! It's wonderful to hear about your Hy. Wow, 7 macaws! You sure have a full house! And I will be sure to post plenty of photos! I get to meet the baby next month so I will have a whole slew of them!
