Mine are very economical. I wait until Rico chews through whatever wooden perch happens to be in his cage, then use the remainder as a handheld until he completes the chew job.

good plan, I only use fingers and hands, but they do enjoy chewing stuff

i used the handle of a broken wooden spoon to train Winkie to step up until he got to where he would tolerate hands. Now, 1/2 the time i can't remember where it is.
