getting Baby a cage..

I have decided to NOT get the cage I mentioned in an earlier thread. I will be going to the bird fair next weekend, 27th, in Memphis, TN.
I've never bought a parrot cage. I read about people buying them at birdfairs and not being happy with them later, but they got a good price.
All I know is Kings cages, as for brands.
What do I need to look for, and steer clear of, as far as construction. I know "get the biggest you can afford rule", but past that, latches, etc.
I really did love that layout of the Neon cage, but I'd rather have a new cage with all of the parts and not worn. Baby deserves that.

I think a new cage is the only way to go. You don't know what may have died in a secondhand cage. A secondhand cage with a known history is no problem.
Also I would be concerned how a cheap cage is painted as some paints are toxic and can be removed by beak. I don't know if BFA's eat cages or dismantle them.

I agree - buying a used cage is an invitation to disaster. I believe Neon is long out of business.
