Curious as to why it can't be broken down. It had to be assembled at one time or another, using bolts or etc. - unless the thang was welded together. Hmmmm.............

Thanks for the heads-up anyway Emily..........I too am somewhat interested but I'll bet ya that it will sell for much, much higher by time the auction is over.

apparently animal environments offers COMPLETE welding as an option. i am not sure why anyone would WANT that though, but apparently these guys did lol.

i am sure it will go up for sure, but anything under the retail price will still be a steal for something like that.

As far as I am aware of, most petshops - at least in my area, sell cages at 100% markup so if that cage new cost the guy $2700, the petshop prolly got it for around $13-$14 hundred. So to allow whomever some profit, a steal to me would be anything under, say around $1500.

I gotta make a new connection with a pet shop in this area that deals with S.S. cages. You know ya have a good pet-shop-owner-type friend when they sell you a cage at about only a 10% mark-up. JMO.

One of these days I'm going to make my dream cage. Anyone know where to get S.S. mesh?

Susan, try this link. We were talking about it on another board recently. I may order some myself in the not too distant future.

We have 2 of this type of cage. We bought them 4 years ago for $2400 each new. They are quality stainless steel. Can't rave about the food dishes though. Athena just figured out how to open the door from the inside this week!

No matter what cage you get she will likely figure it out. It is not a matter of "if", but "when". Athena was a GOOD girl though, she let herself out, and naturally Nova followed her and they let Winged Victory and his buddy Zeta out too! When I got home, they were all partying on MAC nuts!
