Default Toucan

Here's the latest Bird drawing- Not one of mine this time, but from a photo taken at the Lowry park zoo in Tampa-

I'm really enjoying working with the colored pencils- They are VERY portable, so I can use them easily when I am on my ship (Which is where I am now!), and allow me to do SO much more when I am drawing a bird- They are so colorful that it is almost a shame to do them in Graphite sometimes!

He's in the big free-Flight aviary... In the center section, where the big viewing platform is. I haven't seen him before, either... My guess is that he 'hides' a lot. We got there super early, right at feeding time, and lucked out!

ohhhhhh i misunderstood what you said, i thought you said the drawing wasn't yours and it was posted at the zoo! lol! yes, i have seen the bird before, he is SO cute! i always see him at the top of the platform. his beak looks like it's made out of clay. i was there on a hot day in summer and he was panting, their tongues are so weird! they look like pieces of straw.

Very nice, Andrew! I love your graphite work too, though, please don't abandon it altogether. Just as with photography, black and white has its own charm.
