I have a photo sitting on my desk that I took of a Saw Whet Owl last year. It's just a 4x6 photo. The birds are very cautious and very scared of it. When I have one of them with me when I sit at the computer I have to turn it around.
The Crosby Gardens Art fair - it's still going on today, til 4 I think. There were some macaw paintings and prints that I saw - a really cool semi-abstract large painting of 2 hyacinths, and some really cool large bright and beautiful macaw paintings. The macaw things were very pretty but I'm not a macaw person so didn't feel inclined to get any of those. You might want to check it out, lots of cool art in general.

Oh great, the birds are scared of your 4x6 owl photo - my guy is a 16x20 I'll put it in a place where they don't frequent.

I was just wandering around the forums & came across this thread. Really nice photo & painting/print. I agree with Susan that the Owl would look nice on a black edged block - quite a common presentation. The Toos is very colourful - i'd be interested in how you framed & matted that one.

The owl is framed in a black frame - the frame is kind of large and sort of bows outwards, and it has a beveled edge (it looks good). My husband got that framed for my birthday and it hangs in our dining room. The birds pass by that room but they don't even notice it.

I haven't done anything with the 'toos print yet - I'm slow on that sort of thing (the owl just got hung last week when Jerry's pic and some other stuff finally got hung)
