Default Sandy Perch Stand

i think sandy perch is an amazing invention! ivy has one in her cage and i just bought her one of these :

Sandy Perch Deluxe Stand with Cups

it's a great thing to have at the dinner table, kinda gives her her own "chair". very well made and sturdy. the cups pop out for easy cleaning, and lock down for feeding. they make this in all sizes, too!

i think it would make a great travel perch as well. definitely worth a look!

I have one. None of my birds stay on it. Especially if its at the dinner table. They would rather eat from OUR plates. Good luck! lol

I like the idea of a 'chair' - I'm into rethinking the perch set ups around here so the boys will have nicer hanging out spaces - i bought a 'sandy' perch for the cage but neither bird will use it - both avoid it, even with many repositionings. Maybe the food cups make all the difference.

She's still a a baby. Give it time. She will be curious about everything and want to put it in her mouth. Once she understands the concept of flock eating, you will be in trouble. I hope Im wrong lol......My guys are torture. We cant let them near the table anymore when food is involved. Even if we have them out on the big perches and if we eat on the sofa in front of tv, they climb down, cross the floor then beg at our feet or climb up our legs. We always end up with at least 2 of them on us sticking their face in the plates then wiping it on our clothes.

Please don't use sandy perches for your birds. A natural tree branch with the rough bark still on it is so much better for their tender feet... and cheaper, more fun for them and easier to replace.

Ollie has to go in her cage whenever anybody is eating...she thinks all the food in the house belongs to her! Just give Ivy time!

Ollie has a sandy perch in her cage in front of her food bowl and I haven't had to do anything with her nails in over 2 years. They're incredible! She loves to wipe her beak on it also. Obviously providing only sandy perches for your bird would be a big mistake, but variety is key.

hahaha little boogers! i actually like the idea of ivy eating off my plate. i've never been able to get artemis to do it, he thinks my food is the devil

ah well, hopefully even if that happens, i can still use the stand for other times aside from meals.

lol, i have to admit, the thought of all your birds climbing down and going after your food is really adorable!

ivy has mostly bottlebrush perches in her cage, along with a rope and dragonwood perch. she only has one sandy perch in front of her water dish.
