i have gone through 2 vacums but they dont pick up the birds mess...i had a lower amp last time i think it was 8 i might be wrong but i know it wasnt a 12amp...so i would like to know what everyone else is using

I have the Dyson Animal. And I LOVE it! I have had it for almost two years and I use pretty much daily. It is so easy to use and picks up everything.

I went through at least 3 vacuums in 1 year at 1 point. My mom bought me the one I have now - a Eureka Whirlwind (bagless type). I've had it about 2 yrs. now and haven't had any problems with it picking up all the bird seed, toy chunks, beads and dog/cat hair. (knock on wood!)

I have a Kenmore HEPA and it's been good so far. I actually think Lisa B. bought the newer model not that long ago. I also bought the extended 5 year service contract on it 'cause Im always sucking up things that are not meant to get vacuumed.

I've had pretty good luck with Kenmore as well. For daily cleanup around the cages I use a 14.4V Dustbuster.

Me too, Kenmore Progressive. It got the number one rating at Consumers. Althought they bashed my IQ Air purifier but it's AWESOME so they were wrong there.

I like this Progressive because it has a light meter with one, two or three progressive lights that tells you if there are small things still in the carpet (like SEED lol) so you know to stay on that area. The HEPA works well and it has NO BELT - bonus - because I hate changing belts.
