I think that I might just have to back up some bird & bunny mess and check out the local Sears. For now I have cheap-o bagless Hoover (it was under $100) that sorta works...

Actually, no he went out and got a Dirt Devil for 75.00 on his own. I think he's waiting for a bigger price tag item like bedroom furniture

LOL.
The guy who installed my carpet says he uses the cheapest Dirt Devil for work because it only has to pick up carpet fuzz and he goes through them so fast he hates breaking expensive ones.
My Progressive is a year old and still great so I'm happy. It was the blue one but I dont see a major difference in the yellow one's features.
I had a Hoover bagless but I really like the bags now. And the HEPA is better in this one than the Hoover, imo. I use it all the time for seed and stuff and so far it's just as good as the beginning and NO BELTS! MY FAVORITE PART is no stupid belts to break my wrist replacing....which I had to do all the time when there were dog toys all over....I also had a $500.00 Royal cannister in the 90's and it jammed with a Nylabone dog bone and never was right afterwards, what a waste of money.
I would say if a person has bad allergies or powder birds, it's worth spending big bucks because there is less dust put out in the room, the casing is tighter and the dusty air doesnt flow out as much as the cheaper ones...but my Sears isn't so bad with that ...and I crank up the air purifier to max when I vacuum.
I agree with whoever suggested dumping a bunch of bird debree at Sears and testing it with the yellow one then the blue one see if you notice a difference. I'd suggest a bunch of feathers, seed of course and a couple Nutriberry type things. And maybe some strings or straw.
