Default High Quality Mac Nuts from FL

so i was at the bird show this weekend, which, i really need to stop going to because seeing the birds in cages there makes me sick. some REALLY bad breeders, can't stand it. i wish they would sell supplies only at these shows.

but anyways, i met a local mac nut dealer who talked to me for a bit. my last batch of mac nuts which i got from hawaii were really rubbery, wet and a lot of them were moldy. lots of tiny ones too. so i was looking for a new grower to go with.

this guy i met grows HUGE mac nuts! i got a 5 pound bag and they are all the size of pinballs! he dries them so the meat is crunchy and DELICIOUS! he sells at $5 a pound, and does free shipping in FL for orders over $25. the shells are pretty thick, but he sold me and awesome cracker for $5 (he normally sells them for $15) so i can get the nut started for ivy. (i was using a vice before lol!)

i HIGHLY recommend this guy to those of you needing to buy mac nuts in bulk. they are huge, crunchy, and are of the highest quality. the guy REALLY knows his stuff too, he's been growing the nuts for years.

Ruby just spits them out. That is really the only thing she won't eat. Don't know why.

I need the nutcracker! My dad can grow macademias in his back yard (obviously the green thumb skips a generation) and I have a whole big bowl that I have been cracking with a hammer. My aunt swears by using the vise in the garage . Who knows, if I get more of them open, I may even share with the fids.

I didn't realize that they would grow here. Maybe I should plant one of those too. My hubby just planted 2 mango trees this past weekend.....and 2 lychee trees about 1 month ago.

That would be really cool to take a tour though.
