    Default a question of wood

I don't see it on either of my safe or not lists. Basswood? Is that pronounced like the fish or the instrument? It is at my local craft store and it would be pretty convenient to use for toys.

Basswood seems to be part of magnolia family which is safe, maybe do a bit more research.

I found a site that says basswood is safe. Really never thought about this type of wood for my bird toys. What did we ever do without the internet to check these questions out?

as it comes in "planks" of different thickness and fairly cheap it would be easy to make real chompable toys.

About every craft store I've been in. They have it packaged as well as in sheets. Searching it on line it seems to be a fairly popular soft wood.
