the rope I got was a one time thing from them. They ordered the wrong stuff. I have used the other sisal rope as well. For tying toys together and hanging things for the birds. It was dry and had no oil smell to it. But due to what I ave read here and so forth is why I use the Jute rope now. No oil used in its production at all.
The last time I picked up a roll of Manila and Sisal at Home Depot it was real obvious it was oiled. If vegetable oil is used it will say so.
