Default Sweet Potato Chips

I take a Sweet Potato and cut round ways....put Crushed Red Pepper on them. I bake them until crispy.

All of my guys love them.

Thanks so much for this idea! I'm new to being owned by the birdies and am composing my cookbook for my babies. I love new ideas on what to fix for them.

Soon as this rain lets up I am going to the grocery to pick up a sweet potatoe! Ruby is going to absolutely LOVE them. What temp and for how long do you bake them? Very thin slices, or thicker? Do you peel the potatoe first? Thanks for the idea!

Sometimes I peel it....depending on the look of the skin...but, I scrub it really, really good.

I cook it 350 degrees...about 30 mins. I cut them a little on the thick side, but, not too thick.

I want to try these, sounds like my birds would love them too. Remember to get the sweet potatoes and not yams as sweet potatoes are significantly higher in vitamin A than yams.

I am a sweet potato fan but the only one in our home so I eat mine alone. Maybe my birdies will try them too. Thanks for the reminder.

I was thinking the Budgies might like it better in a mash than a chip or dried.
