Default I'm a bakin' fool

I made 2 batches of birdy bread today. Fruity Tooty & Spicy Vegie

**Subsitutions in red**

Spicy Vegie

2 cups whole wheat flour
2 tsp baking powder
1tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt **subbed chili powder**
1/3 cup sugar **Subbed wheat germ**
1/2 cup margerine melted **subbed canola oil, half portion**
2 eggs with shells
1 cup apple juice **subbed orange juice**

added....

dried chilli pepper
chopped Kale
shredded carrot
Bell pepper
Zupreme spicy pellets

Mix it all up. Bake 30 to 35 minutes

1 mashed up banana
sugar free pineapple chunks
chopped apple
blueberries
Zupreme fruity pellets
nut & dried fruit mix - for crunch

Mix it all up. Bake 30 to 35 minutes


YUMMMMM....we'll see if Pita likes it tonight at dinner.




Original recipe is from the Healthy Bird Cookbook for the Cheesy Apple Muffins. That recipe is posted in this thread. I tweaked that one too.

Don't you just love that cook book! I have the same one and use it all of the time, but like you I sub a lot in those recipe's. I don't like all of the added salt, sugar, butter, etc. that they have in some of those recipe's, so I usually end up doing what you do and tweek it a bit, LOL! I just know little Pita is going to be showering Mommy with oodles of beaky kisses tonight!
