Default Birdy bread

I made some birdy bread and my fids LOVED it!

I've tried making birdy bread with all kinds of veges but my fids would not eat it. So I left the veges out. I took some cornbread added the ingredients on the package (milk and egg ) and I threw in some quinoa, millet, pinenuts, walnuts, oatmeal and parrot spice.

They loved it!!

I do a nut bread for mine. Almonds. macadamias, walnuts, pinenuts, pecans. I add some banana chips and apple juice. Leave the shell in with the egg and sprinkle flax seed on top. Its ALWAYS a hit. I serve it with a little red palm oil on top and some avian trio. I make a double batch in a 9x11 pan. Cut it in even squares then pack it up in pieces of 4, throw it in the freezer. Its great when ya gotta run.

I am new here but have a big beak as I said in another post
Please use plain corn meal versus a cron bread mix as they have too much sugar. Also no milk as parrots cannot digest it.....subsititue water or unsweetened apple sauce, etc for liquid. Hope this helps.....

I add the healthy foods to the bread that our birds do not eat regularly and throw over the side, LOL like carrots and broccoli. I also add red palm oil and and flax seed in addition to dried fruits and nuts. Instead of water, I mix with pomegranate juice. It is a good way for them to get their needed vitamins and antioxidants.

No cornbread mixes please, I had a somebody who had baby and mommy canaries with sores around their beaks because of the mix. Aside from the bad stuff they add to it (preservatives, white sugar), the biggest problem with it is that you just don't know how long it's been sitting on the shelves or in the warehouse and mycotoxins grown very quickly after three months.
