Default 5 Grain Cookie Recipe

I made some cookies for the Fids today using some 5 Grain Cereal mix I bought at the Health food store. They taste really good! Oh that’s right they were for the Fids! They liked them too.

Old Wessex Ltd. 100% Natural 5 Grain Cereal
Ingredients: 100% Natural Oats, Rye, Triticale, Barley & Golden Flax
No Salt, Sugar, Additives or Preservatives

Cookie Recipe

4 cups Uncooked 5 Grain Cereal Mix
2 cups Whole Wheat Flour
1 cup chopped Walnuts
1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
½ tsp. Nutmeg
½ tsp. Baking Soda (Aluminum Free)
1 Egg
½ tsp. Vanilla
½ cup Dark Molasses
1 cup Applesauce
1 cup pure Pumpkin
2 TBS. Red Palm Oil

Heat oven to 375 F. Lightly grease cookie sheet. Combine dry ingredients, mix well. Mix Molasses, Vanilla, Applesauce, Pumpkin, Red Palm Oil until smooth. Add Egg. Blend dry ingredients, mixing thoroughly. Stir in chopped nuts and place rounded spoonfuls of dough onto cookie sheet. Bake approximately 10 minutes.

I'd say that recipe gave me about 5 dozen.

I just made yet another batch of these bad boys and I actually used molasses this time. Which means I actually found it!!! lol Right under the honey it was. As was expected, it is a big hit.

That's great! My guys seem to prefer the dark molasses to the honey.

The molasses sure darkens the cookies compared to using honey. And I'm here to tell you, they taste REALLY good. I use pine nuts instead of walnuts and add millet and quinoa. mmmmmmmm
