It sure does. My guys seem to really like the molasses so of course that's what they get. I just love the smell of Molasses too!

I made this recipe again last week and added the Quinoa like you did in your cookie recipe. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to cook the Qunoa first or not, but I did and it worked out well and it made the cookies a little moister.

I was low on time so instead of baking individual cookies I greased the cookie sheets and spread the mixture on it and made cookie bars. It made two large full cookie sheets!

They sure do love this recipe. I think next time I am going to use puréed sweet potato in place of the applesauce and see how that goes over. Wonder if we could even hide a few greens in this recipe??

Those look yummy - you can imagine they'd make way more for Budgies!

We have '5 grain' around here but it doesn't look like that .... hummm I'll look around.

Jac, it's a cooking cereal, like Oatmeal. I can find it here in the specialty section of the big supermarkets and in health food stores.

I just made another batch tonight. Only thing I did different was I cooked it some what "cake" style. I'm lazy ok? lol
I spread it out to cover about 3/4 of the cookie sheet about 3/4 of an inch thick. Baked 20 minutes and it came out wonderful. Cut it into squares and packed it.
I tell ya, vanilla sure is strong isn't it?

I think the 5 grain we have in Canada will work too. I used to prefer it to Oatmeal. Ours looks more like Budgie seed now that I think about it - it isn't milled.

The only way I'm going to get all those ingredients together is to write the recipie on a card & put it in my coat. I never remember to get the Palm Oil [at stores that might carry it] & it's driving me nuts.
I just had to vent a little - some days it seems nothing gets done & there is no progress.

Great recipie tho.
