#1 | | | Joey Flys Free I found Joey this morning all fluffed and hiding in a corner in the bottom of her cage, she laid an egg and Her uterus has fallen out again.
She is extremely stressed and weak, I disenfected my hands and cleaned my little girls vent area well with saline solution, I apllied a small amount of vegetable oil and sugar to help releif the swelling.
I replaced the uterus using pressure and held for awhile, Joey is very sore down there and swollen badly, she drank very well, I fed her Kaytee Baby formula, within 10 minutes time, her uterus fell out again, I repeated the procedure and held pressure longer this time, so far all is okay.
She is secluded under heat.
Joey is close to 17 years old now, her uterus has fallen out afew times, our vet will not do surgery on Joey, she is to old.
Joey was 104 grams 3 days ago, she is now 87 grams, we knew she had an egg in her, this happened during the night, her uterus was very dry this morning.
Today has been a very long day for my little girl, Time to go and check on her.
Take Care folks.

#4 | | | Our Vet provided pain medications not long ago, I forget the name.
The vet described the surgery in detail and the wife is against it, Joey is a runt, she is so much smaller than the rest of our tiels.
She is 17 years old now, even our vet is leary concerning the surgery.
Its been 3 hours now and things seem to be stable, we have replaced Joeys uterus afew times now over the many years.
3 years now since this last happened.
I will speak with my wife more concerning this issue, I will be staying up most of the night with Joey checking to assure the uterus stays in place.
The cost is also a serious issue, Chance our Blue Quaker recently had a seizure, her vet bills have set us back afew steps, and me being laid off for the winter doesn't help matters any.
This is why the wife and I took classes concerning this issue, our vet advised us to learn the procedure.
The wife has already scheduled Joey for a vet visit tommorow morning.
Seems like when things are already hard on us finacially something always happens to show us just how bad things can really be.
Rescues these last few years have placed me in debt, close to 3k, I am still paying on the deductable from my last surgery another 3K, Chances vet bill is nearing 1,500, now this....what a mess.
I will let everyone know what happens and what decissions are made.

#8 | | | My wife frequents Parrot Island, over the years many relationships have grown within the avian world, Parrot Island introduced Tammy Jenkins to my wife and Tammy agreed to look at Joey.
I don't know if any of you folks Know of Tammy Jenkins but she is a Avian Surgeon, she mainly addresses the large Parrots.
Tammy was the surgeon that trained Rose and I on how to reset a prolapse.
She also informed us of the detailed surgery that maybe required, the breaking of bones and the stress our Joey will endure, then the cost, My wife simply frowned at the notion.
Tammy referred us to our current surgeon/vet, Things look like this surgery is a must now.
The last prolapse the uterus was stitched in, we simply can't keep dealing with this issue as John has stated, The uterus should be removed.
Its time to find a part time Job.
Little Joey is so very dear to us, we know we have to address this is, the weight of all these medical bills is just so heavy right now.
There is no light to be seen at the end of the tunnel right now, seems we are just entering the tunnel.
I will update later on today.
