I had to make a decission today to set my sweet dog Piper free from pain. Alittle about him so you can see the fight this dog has done.
I took Piper and 5 other pups in from Ohio a year ago from a kill shelter,They arrived to me very sick, and were hospitalized right away, for what the vet said was kennel cough and pnemonia,They just were not getting better and one by one they died, except Piper, My vet at the time said he to was going to die, I refused to believe this, and took him to a specialist, Piper had massive lung worms, that had eaten over half of his lungs, exrays showed his lungs looking like lace curtians, He was put on meds and a lung scrap done. Amazingly Piper had learned to use his stomach muscles to breath, The vet was amazed at this and his will to live. Piper has never been able to be a normal dog, never played like a puppy or could run around, but that did not stop him,He kept fighting to live. the last 2 weeks Piper has taken a turn for the worse, and was struggling so hard to breath, This is the hardest thing I had to do.
Piper I love you sweet boy, you have touched so many lives, and you will never be forgotten.
