Thank you everyone, It took my a hour to finally stop hugging him at the vets, I miss him so much already.

Barb, thank you so much for sharing Piper's story with us. I'm so sorry this had to happen. I totally understand and agree with you about it being the hardest thing we ever must do, it just tears your heart right out. This I know from hard experience. Try to take comfort that Piper runs like the wind now, and is free to play like he never could when he was here with us. And I totally believe that one day he will be there to joyfully welcome you home. Once again, bless you for opening your heart to so many of our fellow souls in need.

Barb, I am so sorry....but he lived a lot longer than your vet had thought...you gave Piper a great home with tons of love...I just feel so awful....what a sweetie he was.

I know how hard it is to let go. When i held Max, I did not want to let him go. i ws still inso much shock by it all.

At least you were there with him..

I'm so sorry for your loss, but glad that Piper had the chance to know what it was to be a cherished friend. He is free from pain now and running like the wind.

Piper is free to romp and run and play to his hearts content. Barb, just think of this as Piper is "your" guardian "Angel" to all for your feathered,furred friends that are in your life now and future.

Thanks everyone, This morning was very hard walking into the shelter and not having my baby here,I know he knew he was loved,I am sure he got sick of me constantly hugging him,but he was so special.I will have his ashes brought to the shelter so that he can return home here with us.
