Well, I made the appointment for the vet first thing this morning, then went to get him, only to find that it was too late.... Chris passed sometime last night. I am only glad that he was separated from the others, so they didn't have to watch. It was nice last night, though, because all he wanted was to snuggle (he's never done that before, so it was nice.)

I'm pretty sad about this, but also worried about my other guys. If it was a disease, they might have it too. I'm going to ring the vet and make another appointment for them all, get a good check up for everything. I just hope Chris is happy, flying free where ever he is now.

I am so sorry Goddess.... Perhaps he had an underlying issues and the temp changes were just too much for him to handle with that issue. I hope your other birdies will be just fine.

They all seem fine, handling the temperature diff alright and stuff, still eating, but I'm worried still. I can't get in to see the vet until next week, either

I am so sorry to hear about Chris. In reference to the vet appt, do they know what happened to Chris. Maybe they will be able to squeeze you in since the other birds could be sick also.

They don't know yet. I asked them about squeezing me in, but the vet is away for a long weekend (leaving early this arvo and coming back late monday) so they're not going to be able to fit us in until Tuesday. They seem to think it was the rapid temperature change, and he just couldn't handle it like the others did. Needless to say, they're ALL coming inside now while it's so cold.

I'm so sorry about Chris, sending big hugs your way and positive thoughts for the rest of the flock.

That is a good idea to bring them inside for a little while. Keep us updated when you take the rest of them to the vet. Good luck.
