Default Missing African Grey in Manhattan, NY

forwarding this on from an e-mail i received....

My name is Lee M. Frankel, and my wife is Leigh A. Frankel.

Franklin is an 18 year old African Grey Parrot. For the past week,
he has been in the care of Sutton Dog Parlor & Aviary at 311 East
60th Street in Manhattan.

During what should have been a routine care & feeding session, one of
the care technicians noticed that Franklin's cage was empty. He
thought Franklin had been picked up by owner and left the store. It
was not until today that Marcia noticed that Franklin was missing,
and called us with the dreaded news.

We are traveling back to NYC, arriving Saturday @ 5PM. Needless to
say, we are absolutely grief stricken and distraught at the prospect
that we may never see our beloved bird again. As a couple who have
never been blessed with children of our own, our pets are our
"children" and mean the world to us.

During this time of year, the beginning of the holiday season, any
appeal to the public's sense of good deeds, and fair play is what we
hope for.

ANY exposure that the media can provide, along with human interest
appeals are greatly appreciated.

We need some help, and are not sure where to turn. Our contact info
follows. Please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Sincerely,
Lee & Leigh

I was wondering if this was cross posted to 911parrotalert?
I am very saddened by this.
I pray this bird is found and found quickly.
Prayers to the owners.

It hasn't been found yet, they even had an article in a newspaper and they are offering a $10,000 reward but, if you ask me, the bird was stolen and, most likely, by somebody who had access to the place. Maybe even an employee. I doubt they will ever find him. It's one of the risks you take when you board... you simply have no control over what might happen.
