Lost African Grey Timneh *** Found this on another board and thought that the more that know about this the better the chances are. ***
My husband 'lost' my 4 year old African grey parrot 2 1/2 weeks ago. He was getting the mail & there was a loud noise & Marvin freaked and flew from his hand.
No his wings were not clipped at the time. He hasn't ever done anythning like that in 4 years. We are not stupid, but he honestly has never ever done anything like that. The most he has flown is 5 feet.
I have spent every day..every night looking for him.
I made flyers, posters, went to every pet shop I could. If I couldnt go to a pet shop physically I faxed them the flyer.
I called the police & sheriff departments in 3 counties north and south of me. I called TV stations & radio stations. One even announced it for me.
I have contacted every vet in my phone book, bird sanctuaries, animal control.
And I have actually helped to reunite 2 different parrots to their owners during the past few weeks while looking for Marvin. I just don't seem to be that lucky. I do pray every day & night.
Marvin is like my child. I cannot find him. I don't know if he is alive, dead, or just starving to death.
And the sadness I have is more overwhelming then I can bear sometimes.
If you are in or near the West Palm Beach, Florida area and have found a parrot or know of someone that has recently, please contact me day or night. I will pay all costs associated with his care to date & there is a LARGE reward.
